Working on our third episode

Hey Everybody Andrew here... I'm going to tell what we accomplished today... We started with what we thought about the first episode and everybody gave their opinion.. Chris and I who usually are here on Wednesday got a little ahead with our piece which is about situations that teens do in certain situations and what adults think the teen would do in that situation Erin is working on her shot list on her poem for the next episode.. Destaney and Sheara worked on their piece showing off teen fashion... Peter and Andrea were working hard to make sure we got our project statements done and that we know what we are going to shoot.. speaking of shooting Abe started to shoot his piece interviewing people.... That's about it so I hope to post tomorrow to explain our wacky adventures of Wednesday... See you there... on the blog I mean...

Thanks
Andrew Lonnes

Windy Day At The River

Hello, our names are Sam Fusco and Jonathan Roman, and we are both new to
Set It Up this year. Today is Halloween and we went to Harriot Island to do a shoot about community, youth, change, and music. For music we had Carolyn holding an iPod and she was listening to it and dancing. Then, after that, we saw a train coming so we did a pan of downtown with the train in the background. Then, after that, we went another place close to the river and we did a shot of me, Sam, picking up some trash. This was really hard because it was really windy and the trash would have blown away so we put a rock in the chip bag so it wouldn't blow away. After that we were done filming and we had to head back. There was only three people here today so it was sort of hard to do things in a timely manner and also it was hard to think of things for our shot list. Then since it was Halloween, Peter was dressed like a red dinosaur and Andrea was dressed like a bunny rabbit and also gave us candy. We all enjoyed it to a high extent.

It's So Hard To Say Goodbye!

Hi I'm Amber,
This is my first time posting so let me update you on me and how I'm involved with set it up.
Im 17 and i got picked to be in set it up through application( kevin & Andrea showed up at my school and passed them out) Anyway i got interviewed by Kevin and made it through (wooohooo). Getting involved with set it up was the best thing i have done ever. Words can not sum up what I've learned and what I've got out of being involved. Everyone in this program is has thought me somthing for example Andrea you've taught me that the life you are given is just the rough draft, that it takes you to make it a fine cut. Kevin you've taught me that patience takes a lot but it possible to accomplish. Raylynn you've taught me that life can be as stressless as you make it. Mejid you taught me that dreams stay dreams unless you turn them to reality. Josh you've taught me that well ummm welll ummm ....oh okay that being extremely special is okay (jk). Pedro you've showed me that you don't have to try so hard to fit in. James you've shown that talent is deeper that what the eyes can see. Kate you've shown me that life has its curves but you can always find your way around them. Ivan you shown me that being yourself is the best way to be. Bekka you show everyday that kindness takes you along way. Andrew you've taught me that its okay to work with people. Erin you taught me that the world has many views on things. Roxanne you've shown me that as long as you have a kool bike then well ... your kool duah!!!
Thanks you guys for being my friends, my......family.
It Truly is hard to say good bye

Set It Up 06-07 - Episode 5 - Teen Scenes

The season finale of the 2006-2007 season of Set It Up.

24 May 2007

the volunteer perspective

what up?!
this is rox, I'm a volunteer with the Set It Up show (which rules, by the way).
we're currently finishing production and beginning post-production on the last episode of the season (sob).
As my second year with the program is coming to an end, I have to say I'm a little sad that it's almost over. but not too sad, because there's still a lot of work to do to finish up, the bbq studio shoot, and the final viewing party.
the crew this year is talented, motivated, and very committed to the success of the show. I am lucky to have worked with such a fantastic crew, and am inspired by their passion and dedication. also I enjoy chillin' with them, talking about arbitrary subjects, and laughing at pretty much everything they say. they are an amazing group. I can say that they will all go somewhere unimaginably awesome in their futures, but in all honesty they're already doing it.
in closing, I'd like to give a big shout out to all the SIU crew and wish them all the best for the summer and beyond. also, they should keep in touch. on myspace.
love y'all!

A Blog From James!

It hasn't been the same here at Set It Up since Andrea went off to get married. Kevin has been working extra hard, but since we are without Andrea, we have been calling it Set It Up Lite. We are waiting for her to come back and we hope she's having a great time!

Our production for the last episode of the season is well underway. The topic we chose is "Teen Scenes." Set It Up intends to explore the various teen hangouts, clubs, groups, and activities. It is going to be a great episode and I hope everyone is looking forward to seeing it!

Well, that's all I have for today. Don't forget to tune in to channel 16 every monday at 7pm!
